Dr. John Battaglia, MD, is Clinical Adjunct Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, and is Medical Director of the Program of Assertive Community Treatment in Madison, WI. After graduating magna cum laude with a BA in Psychology from Pomona College in Claremont, Califo

Dr. John Battaglia, MD, is Clinical Adjunct Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, and is Medical Director of the Program of Assertive Community Treatment in Madison, WI. After graduating magna cum laude with a BA in Psychology from Pomona College in Claremont, California, in 1980, he earned his MD with honors from Ohio State University in Columbus in 1984.


Dr. Battaglia has authored or coauthored numerous articles from his research on psychopharmacology (mood disorders, schizophrenia, anxiety disorders), agitation, multiple suicide attempters, ethics in rural health care, and seasonal mood disorder. For the past 30 years he has taught supportive psychotherapy and crisis intervention techniques for various agencies. His book: Doing Supportive Psychotherapy, was recently published by American Psychiatric Association Publishing (2020). He served on the NAMI Wisconsin (National Alliance on Mental Illness) Board of Directors from 2011 to 2019.

Dr. Greist received a bachelor's degree from Princeton University and M.D. degree from Indiana University. Following medical internship at the University of Wisconsin, he completed training in internal medicine and was chief resident in 1969-70. He also completed psychiatric residency at UW, the last year as a fellow in child psychiatry. 

Dr. Greist received a bachelor's degree from Princeton University and M.D. degree from Indiana University. Following medical internship at the University of Wisconsin, he completed training in internal medicine and was chief resident in 1969-70. He also completed psychiatric residency at UW, the last year as a fellow in child psychiatry. He has been on the Psychiatry faculty at UW from 1971, was tenured in 1975, Professor until 1992, Clinical Professor until 2016 and Professor - Emeritus to the present. He directed the Anxiety Disorders Center from 1978-1992. 


In addition, he is co-founder and co-director of the Lithium, Bipolar and Obsessive-Compulsive Information Centers and CEO of Healthcare Technology Systems, Inc. His major clinical and research interests are anxiety and mood disorders, suicidality, psychopharmacology, behavior therapy and clinical applications of computing. In addition to more than 300 articles in professional journals and chapters in books, he has coauthored numerous books and patient booklets.

Tom Hoffman, MD

Dr. Tom Hoffman was born in Great Falls, Montana. He attended Carroll College before matriculating to the University of Washington to complete medical school. He completed his residency in psychiatry at the University of Vermont, his fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at the University of New Mexico, and his forensic fellowship

Dr. Tom Hoffman was born in Great Falls, Montana. He attended Carroll College before matriculating to the University of Washington to complete medical school. He completed his residency in psychiatry at the University of Vermont, his fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at the University of New Mexico, and his forensic fellowship at the University of Colorado. Following completion of training, he moved to Butte, Montana. He has worked at various agencies in the state including AWARE, Acadia Montana, and most recently, Shodair Children's Hospital. 


Tom is active in AACAP and currently serves as the co-chair for the AACAP Rural Psychiatry Committee. He has previously spoken on a variety of topics including the duty to warn, children in cults, and challenges faced in rural psychiatry at the American Academy of Forensic Sciences, the Big Sky Psychiatry Conference, and at the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Annual Meeting.

Dr. Robert Sise, MD, MBA, MPH was born and raised in San Diego, CA. He currently practices both addiction and general psychiatry at Billings Clinic. He is a founding partner of Avicenna Telepsychiatry. Dr. Sise also serves as a Core Faculty Member of the Montana Track of the University of Washington (UW) Psychiatry Residency Training Prog

Dr. Robert Sise, MD, MBA, MPH was born and raised in San Diego, CA. He currently practices both addiction and general psychiatry at Billings Clinic. He is a founding partner of Avicenna Telepsychiatry. Dr. Sise also serves as a Core Faculty Member of the Montana Track of the University of Washington (UW) Psychiatry Residency Training Program. He completed both addiction psychiatry fellowship and general psychiatry residency at UW. Prior to moving to Seattle, he earned his MD at the University of California, San Francisco and his MBA/MPH the University of California, Berkeley. 


His interests include the treatment of co-occurring disorders, mental health policy and health care delivery system development. Dr. Sise met his wife, Maya, during his studies. They have been married since 2012, have two daughters and are proud to call Montana home.
