Each year, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Montana (BCBSMT) supports communities throughout our state with grants and sponsorships. We are proud of our community investments and value the very important work that organizations are doing to keep Montanans healthy.
The Caring Foundation of Montana (CFMT) works to ensure all Montanans have access to preventive health care services, regardless of insurance coverage or ability to pay. Through partnerships and sponsors across Montana, CFMT provides these services at low or no cost to individuals of all ages. Efforts focus primarily on rural and frontier communities that have little or no access to health care services. The Care Team, through the Care Van® program, has traveled more than 90,000 miles to deliver 21,000+ vaccines, health screenings, educational resources, and preventive services in 40-plus Montana counties since 2014.
Sometimes all it takes to start a fire is a little spark. That's the thought behind the Governor's Cup road races, which are held annually on the second Saturday in June. Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Montana presents the annual event in Helena to provide people with a fun and festive opportunity to celebrate the benefits of exercise and healthy lifestyle choices with their friends and neighbors. The Governor’s Cup serves as the main fundraising event for The Caring Foundation of Montana, with race registration fees going to the foundation. For nearly 50 years, the Governor’s Cup has sparked fires inside the bellies of numerous participants in the marathon, marathon relay, half marathon, 10K, 5K and Kids Marathon and Fun Run.
Healthy Kids, Healthy Families (HKHF) is a Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Montana initiative designed to improve the health and wellness of children through community investments by the Blue Cross and Blue Shield plans of Health Care Service Corporation (HCSC). HKHF is a signature program of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Montana and part of an ongoing commitment to invest in and partner with nonprofit organizations that offer sustainable, measurable programs to reach children and their families.
The blue sky is the limit to what we can do together to help make everyone happy and healthy. So Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Montana launched a statewide Big Blue Sky Initiative to help fight opioid abuse, rising suicide rates, bullying, meth and heroin epidemics, and to promote healthy living. The Big Blue Sky Initiative is ready to put resources in the hands of the communities we serve, so we all get through this together.
